Graphic Design

For those interested in Art but wanting to explore its application in the commercial world, our graphic design course covers print and screen design, branding, typography and graphic illustration.

Working in small groups, we design and produce leaflets, posters, menus and magazines whilst learning the basics of graphic design theory. As part of each project, we introduce our young adults to design using computer based applications including Adobe Photoshop, In Design and Illustrator.

We run weekly Graphic Design Workshops that provide an opportunity for our young adults to enhance their artistic talents in a supportive and knowledgeable environment. Using their skill and creativity we help them develop products to be sold in our shop. Their work is featured on a variety of different products such as:

  • Greetings Cards
  • Mugs
  • Calendars
  • Books & Graphic Novels

Graphic Design has a huge range of subjects and possible applications including:

  • Illustration
  • Typography
  • Composition
  • Layout
  • Basic Design Theory

We also focus on Computer based applications, and young adults are supported with one on one tuition to develop skills in programs such as:

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • InDesign

We have a flexible teaching environment and we adapt sessions according to the needs and abilities of the young adults we have learning with us. Groups are small so that each individual has the support they need. We aim to make the sessions as realistic as possible with targets and deadlines that a designer might expect to meet within the industry.
